Indigenous Mental Health and Wellness
Offers in-hospital and community support to help Indigenous people and their families with accessing culturally appropriate mental health services. Patient navigators work directly with mental health workers to help patients understand and navigate the health care system, as well as provide assessment, counselling, and referrals to community services.
Mental Health and Substance Use Support Line
Provides access to mental health and substance use services and resources for the Interior Health region. When calling the MHSU Access Line you will be connected to your nearest mental health and substance use centre.
Support is available for ongoing substance use issues, mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, paranoia, and psychosis, or if you're unsure you need support.
Health Outreach Nurse - Kootenays
Provides safe and confidential screening, treatment and support services for individuals at risk for, or living with HIV. The health outreach team offer HIV and hepatitis information and education, prevention and harm reduction services, HIV and hepatitis screening and testing, counselling, and referrals to community resources, care and treatment.

Provides a point of entry for all adult mental health and substance use services for the Island Health region. Services are provided in a variety of settings including community clinics, hospitals, specialized settings, and on an outreach basis.
Services include central intake, short-term assessment and treatment, long-term programs for those with a serious and persistent mental illness, as well as substance use prevention and treatment programs.

Mobile Overdose Prevention Service
Offers mobile street outreach and harm reduction supplies to individuals in Dawson Creek. A mobile vehicle travels to different areas of the city and provides basic nursing services and supports, supervised injection and safer drug injection supplies, naloxone and naloxone training, needle exchange, safer sex supplies, harm reduction education, and referrals to other substance use services.

Supports the Northern Health Authority in its commitment to build a health system that honours diversity and provides culturally safe services.
Online resources include publications, webinars, and local cultural resources, as well as an interactive map to find locations and contact information for Indigenous communities and health centres, friendship centres, Métis associations and Aboriginal liaisons in Northern BC.
