Description

Kelty Mental Health provides mental health and substance use information, resources, and peer support to families across B.C., including information and resources to people of all ages experiencing disordered eating concerns. 

The Kelty Centre is a part of the integrated provincial strategy to improve health literacy in mental health and substance use in B.C., and is a key Mental Health Literacy program at BC Children's Hospital.

FamilyStart promotes families helping families, with 20 years of experience providing peer support, information and navigation of mental health services.

Description

FamilySmart programs help B.C. families and caregivers who are parenting children and youth facing mental health challenges.

Youth in Residence and Parent in Residence are young people and families with lived experience in child and youth mental health, who use their collective experience and expertise to help families. 

This program was started by two mothers in 2000 and is now an organization of 45 people.

EASE at Home offers tips for parents, like how to teach children calming breathing techniques or use structured games like scavenger hunts to build routine in a way that’s fun.

Description

EASE is a collection of evidence-informed anxiety prevention and resilience-building resources for students in grades K-7. Resources use cognitive behavioural strategies to address the thoughts, feelings and behaviours associated with anxiety.

EASE also provides activities designed to be delivered by classroom teachers, but can be adapted for use by school counsellors, administrators and support staff. Activities focus on increasing emotional health and resiliency for all children.

EASE was developed by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) in collaboration with Anxiety Canada and educators in B.C.
