Offers a virtual support group to support the well-being of parents of toddlers, school age and teenage children. The group is a safe place to connect with other parents, share experiences, and learn coping skills related to stress during the current pandemic.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Skills Groups

CBT Skills Groups Society of Victoria

Offers group medical visits for older youth and adults experiencing stress, anxiety and or mild to moderate depression. The groups teach practical tools to recognize, understand and manage patterns of feeling, thinking, and behaving aimed at improving mental health and wellbeing.

Designed by psychiatrists and taught by doctors, the course uses neuroscience, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioural therapy skills and concepts. Groups are offered virtually using Zoom.

Integrated Mobile Crisis Response Team

Island Health

Provides rapid, mobile, community-based response to children, youth and families who are experiencing immediate concerns related to mental health and substance use issues. The team includes professionals with backgrounds in nursing, law enforcement, child and youth care, social work, and psychology.

Areas of concern include acute depression, dementia, psychosis, mania, suicide risk, acute distress, post traumatic stress, severe anxiety, and aggression or behavioural problems with children.

YMCA BC

Offers a free 7-week group-based mental wellness program for Indigenous young adults experiencing anxiety and stress. Participants learn healthy coping skills, connect with other Indigenous young people in the community, receive culturally appropriate support, and engage in physical activities as part of their mental wellness plan. Provided through local Indigenous organizations and may be available in person or online.

Provincial Mental Health Metabolic Program

BC Children's Hospital

Provides management and care to children and youth who have both mental health and endocrinology concerns such as weight gain, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and or increase in insulin and blood sugar levels.

Team members provide specialized treatment including medical assessment, ongoing care, education, and lifestyle counselling including healthy eating, physical activity and stress management.

Canadian Mental Health Association - BC Division

Offers mental health resources for employers and employees in BC who work in the tourism, hospitality and community social services industry. The hub offers a range of tools to help with workplace concerns such as bullying, harassment, coping with stress, and COVID-19 exposure.

Resources include online information, webinars, workshops, and help with connecting to other mental health services including counselling and peer support.

Canadian Men's Health Foundation

Offers a free, online resource with tools to help men manage mild to moderate stress and anxiety. Resources are designed for men by psychologists to help them take steps towards better mental health.

The toolkit includes an anxiety self-screening tool, MindFit audio exercises narrated by Canadian professional and elite athletes, online mental health resources, and relaxing soundscapes. Access to counselling sessions are also available.

School Based Outreach Program

North Okanagan Youth and Family Services Society

Provides counselling for students and families experiencing stress at home (such as addictions, grief, mental health), that affect the student's ability to manage at school. Families are referred by the school and services are offered in the school and family home.

Provides free one-on-one counselling for low-income women black, Indigenous, and people of colour including transgender and two-spirit community members. Services are offered virtually and where available, in-person.
